The Annual Tourism Monitor (ATM) 2021 provides an overview of the reported foreign arrival numbers into 47 Asia Pacific destinations by source market over the last five years before the pandemic and for 2020. It includes specific changes in 2019 and 2020, such as air seat capacity changes by carriers and destinations. Numbers for early 2021 are also provided.
The 47 Asia Pacific destinations covered in the report had their collective international visitor arrival numbers (IVAs) in 2020 fall to the lowest level of arrivals last seen in in the mid-1980s; nevertheless, early 2021 data from 38 Asia Pacific destinations indicate that early 2021 is not as severe as early periods of 2020.
